In High School I ran short distances. (1990-02) Made it to State several times running the 100, 200, 400, and relays. Short-Term Running Goals: Running 1.5 miles for charity in May. I hope to build to a 5k (running the whole time) by the fall. Long-Term Running Goals: I would like to run a 10k with my wife. (Well we will start together and I will meet up with her after she finishes the race before me). Personal: I work for the Utah County Sheriff's Office. I'm just finishing a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling. I figure the counseling can come in handy on this site. (Some of you guys have some running issues). lol. My wife is a awesome runner who runs with many of the people on this site. She isn't a fan of blogging so she reads comments mostly. My wife ran a 3:24 marathon at The Mesa Falls Marathon last year and took 1st place overall for females. I hope one day she is recorded among the top finishers on this site. :) Favorite Blogs: |

| | My wife (Ali) does a bootcamp every monday and thursday at our local church. It was an awesome work out. I ran about a mile while there and ran a little more at the end. I'm just trying at this point to get ready for the 1 1/2 miles I will run in May for the special olympics. I hope to shed about 10 lbs in the process. I have a winter coat I need to shed. Speedo here I come. lol. |

| | 1.5 miles run on the treadmile. The pace was slow but I'm starting to feel better each time I run. I also follow that up with the follow workout: 3 sets of Dips stomach workout (yoga stuff, etc) 3 sets of Push-up. Cool down.

| | Ran with my wife this morning. Its funning to see her trying to run slow. She like a jack rabbit trying not to jump. Anyway the weather was awesome. I reach a new high at 1.7 miles. Felt pretty good afterward. I walked the last .3 for two miles total. Alison is very encouraging. I know the first few weeks are tough. I'm trying my best to tough it out. |

| | Had a 1 hour workout with my wife at her bootcamp. Ran about 1/2 mile there. Later on in the day did another 3/4 of a mile leading a group of SWAT cadets in the Utah County Swat School. Twisted my ankle midway through. Ouch. A little tender but I plan to run tomorrow. My wife is so awesome for her support, her workouts are intense and I think the little running I've been doing is helping already with my endurance. Chocolate Turtle |

| | Alright I had a few first this week: 1. My first 2 miler yeah. My wife push me through the whole thing (bless her heart). I felt pretty good throughout but started to lad towards the end. 2. My 1st bathroom break while running: I always felt that if you have to use the bathroom when running you have been running for too long. lol. Anyway I stop by Carl's jr while running and the break was well needed. 3. My weigh is now 235. I been using different scales so I decided to use the one at Gold's Gym. Despite being 235 my pants are fitting better than last year when I was 225. I really bulk up over the winter during workouts. I'm trying to shed a little but its not a huge concern. I finish the workout with a 30 min workout involving pushup, situps, and other core exercises my wife would gather from her head. Good day. Did I mention that I did this on only 4 hours of sleep! | | I graduated today with my Master's in Mental Health Counseling. I went to spagetti factory and had a HUGE plate of spagetti. YUM YUM. It feels good to have finish a journey that took over 3 years to complete. My wife is awesome. I still stand in awe about how cool she has been as I have ran from work to school to internship for the past year. Now that I'm finished I'm excited about working a day or so a week as a therapist. Anyway .5 warm-up .75 intervals from light post to light post. A good solid sprint in between quick walking. Lots of fun my type of training. |
| |
| | My workout today was a "boot camp" style workout with lots of push-ups, sit-ups, air squarts, etc. Lots of fun. Got about .5 in. today will try to increase tomorrow. Chocolate Turtle. |

After work run today. Wasn't the smartest decision to eat before I went. My pace was steady for the 1st mile. I started feeling a little sick after that but kept it going. It felt good overall. I'm wondering from some of you running experts. What is the best time to run? Just curious. Going for 2 miles tomorrow pre-dinner. Wish me luck Chocolate Turtle. |

| | Hey I'm back. lol. I ran 2 miles with my son today. He was sooo excited to go out. After a mile I was feeling pretty good. We walk about .25 miles to give him a break then finish the last bit with a nice trot. It was fun times. Running with my wife is like running with a caged gazelle. The last 2 weeks I've done alot of cross-training with my wife. The run felt great. Yesterday, My wife won the memorial day 5k run in Spanish Fork with the time of 20:13. I was so proud of her and the gift certificate she won which will help pay for her next set of shoes. Yeah. She won a bag during the drawing as well. As of right now we planned on running the springville nestle fun run together. Chocolate Turtle |

| | Nice run on the treadmill at Gold Gym. I finally got a inhaler for my althetic induced ashtma and it has made a HUGE difference. So this is what its like to run and not faint. lol. Anyway moving along. We try to moved to 3 mile runs in a few weeks. Running without major chest restriction is actually not that bad. Hot Chocolate. |

| | Move along. The last few times I ran on a treadmill. I been going about 25 to 20 mins working more jogging continuously than how far I am running. So far have good success and feeling pretty good. The albuterol has been awesome. I didn't realize how bad my exercise- induced asthma has been. Well see how I do tonight running. Chocolate Turtle

| | Alright a few first: 1. The first time I've ever stayed on the treadmill for more than 60 minutes. 2. The first time I've ever ran over 4 miles without being prompted. (police academy, swat school, etc.) 3. The first time I've ever work out for over 1 1/2 hours in about 10 years(did 30 minutes of yoga stuff). It felt great to get that work out done. The inhaler has been heaven sent. The intensity of my workouts are great. I sweat like a pig, and I love it. Now I just have to decide if I want to do this again. lol Chocolate Turtle |

| | Nice jog with my oldest son. Lots of fun. Nothing like having a conversation about the many adventure of spongebob squarepants. I was very stiff this morning so the jog helped. Chocolate Turtle |
|
| | Shattering my previous total mileage week by 2 miles. lol. I'm starting to get used to this whole running thing. 20 mins isn't very long anymore which is a huge deal for me. Working on running without stopping for an hour is my new goal. I know I can do it. Chocolate Turtle |
